HSUHK Signs MoU with Suigang-Link for HK-Guangzhou Youth Entrepreneurship Collaboration

On 12 June 2026, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) and Suigang-Link jointly held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony at Nansha IFC, alongside a forum for the “GBA Youth Start-up and Social Innovation Programme”. The event brought together representatives from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO), Guangzhou District Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Guangzhou Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Service Centre, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Nansha District, as well as other key partners across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), to witness the outcomes of Hong Kong-Guangzhou collaboration in youth innovation and entrepreneurship.

Ms So Tsz-yin, Deputy Director of the GDETO, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasising that closer Guangdong-Hong Kong collaboration will further advance youth exchange and innovation development. Mr Hugo Lin, General Manager of Suigang-Link, then introduced the company’s role in connecting resources between Nansha and Hong Kong, and fostering collaboration within GBA.

The MoU was subsequently signed by Dr Ken Yau, Head of Global Affairs of HSUHK, and Mr Hugo Lin, General Manager of Suigang-Link, marking a strengthened partnership in youth innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, resource integration, and project implementation.

Since its establishment, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at HSUHK has incubated over 100 start-up teams across diverse sectors. A total of 13 outstanding teams were selected for the “GBA Youth Start-up and Social Innovation Programme”, among which PrimeUnity Education, UltraGuardian Co., Ltd., and The Peel were invited to showcase their projects and innovative practices in education technology, intelligent welding, and health-focused citrus tea formulations. The forum, moderated by Dr Holly Chung, Deputy Director of the CIE, featured founders of the 3 start-up teams sharing their entrepreneurial experiences, opportunities, and challenges of operating in GBA, fostering a lively and engaging exchange of perspectives.

The event further strengthened Hong Kong–Guangzhou collaboration and provided a broader platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship in GBA, contributing to the next phase of regional innovation development.

On 13 June, at the invitation of HKUST (Guangzhou), Dr Ken Yau, together with representatives from GAO, attended the 4th INNOTECH Innovation Carnival. The event featured over 150 innovation projects, more than 1,000 investors and enterprises, and attracted around 3,300 participants.
