


On 22–25 March 2026, the Nansha Centre joined the “Hong Kong Higher Education Delegation Exchange Visit to Wuhan”, organised by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with support from the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government and the Department of Education of Hubei Province, as part of the delegation, representing HSUHK, alongside representatives from Hong Kong’s tertiary education sector, aiming to promote collaboration between higher education institutions in Hubei and Hong Kong.
During a symposium hosted by the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Mr Shu Gangbo, Deputy Director, provided an overview of national education policies. Representatives from Hong Kong universities also shared their experiences and challenges in handling Mainland affairs. At the Hubei-Hong Kong Forum, chaired by Professor Deng Hexiang, Director of the International Affairs Office at Wuhan University, Professor Yuan Yufeng, Vice President, delivered a welcome address. Delegates were engaged in discussions on joint talent cultivation and co-development of research platforms.
The delegation then toured Wuhan University’s Sakura Top, Cherry Blossom Avenue, and Wanlin Art Museum. They also visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology, where they explored the University History Museum, Student and Faculty Service Centre, Engineering Practice Innovation Centre, and the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, gaining valuable insights into the University’s practices in interdisciplinary innovation and industry-education integration. Towards the end of the visit, the delegation visited Wuhan University of Technology, Hubei University, and Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan), and experienced cutting-edge applications in smart manufacturing, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence.
The four-day exchange visit deepened mutual understanding between institutions in Hubei and Hong Kong, and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration in research, student exchange, and industry-academia integration.
