Visit to Astana Advances Partnerships in Central Asia

In light of Kazakhstan’s dynamic development and its close ties with the Chinese Mainland, the Global Affairs Office (GAO) conducted a visit to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to advance the University’s partnership initiatives in Central Asia.

On 22 May, at the invitation of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU), the GAO team attended the University Day celebrating ENU’s 30th anniversary. Hosted by its Department of International Cooperation, the team toured the museum and the teaching facilities of the Faculty of International Relations, and engaged with 2 ENU student ambassadors majoring in Oriental Studies, gaining a deeper understanding of its learning environment and disciplinary strengths. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen institutional ties between ENU and HSUHK, and to explore potential areas for collaboration.

During the visit, the GAO team also connected with local schools to introduce the University, its programmes, and admission information.

Looking forward, GAO will continue to deepen its engagement in Central Asia by fostering closer dialogue with institutions, schools, and key stakeholders.
