Head of Global Affairs | Dr Ken Yau 

Dr Ken Yau obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The London School of Economics and Political Science. Upon returning from the United Kingdom, he received a Doctor of Philosophy in social science.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, Dr Yau has shared his expertise in a wide range of courses, specialising in international relations and China studies, with undergraduate and master’s degree students across several universities. Prior to joining HSUHK, he held the position as Assistant Director of Experiential Learning in the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong, where he played a pivotal part in establishing partnerships with renowned institutions in the Greater China region and overseas, creating valuable experiential learning opportunities for students.

In 2023, Dr Yau joined HSUHK as Head of Global Affairs for the newly established Global Affairs Office. In this capacity, he leads the Office in developing strategic global partnerships and driving the University’s comprehensive internationalisation efforts. In recognition of his professional achievements in teaching and learning support, he has been awarded the status of Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) by the United Kingdom’s Advance HE.
