Exchange study enables me to experience new cultures and their way of living. Especially together with my buddy, I had the chance to see firsthand how people in Hong Kong are actually living.
One of the most memorable experiences in Hong Kong was visiting Tai O to see how local fishermen live. I got to taste bubble waffle and mango mochi for the first time in Hong Kong.
Thanks to Residential Colleges and the efficient buddy program, we had the opportunity to learn a lot about Asian culture and to discover the less touristy parts of Hong Kong.
It was always fun to try new restaurants and street food wherever we went, to experience new dishes and fall in love with the local cuisine. I will most definitely be returning, the only question is ‘when’.
My best memory of this semester is the high table dinner! I always feel at home in Hong Kong. Thank you to all the team and HSUHK for their warm welcome.
It was challenging to get to know the local students because many of them were a bit shy but as time passed, I got to know many of them. The most valuable thing I got from the whole experience was a deeper understanding of cultural differences between Finland and other countries.
