Student Sharing

Yip Sin Ching, BBA-SCM

I have challenged myself through the Buddy Programme because I have to take initiative to ask my buddies out and also share with them some experiences living in Hong Kong. My English has also greatly improved.

Tam Hon Lai, BA-ENG

Buddy Programme is a meaningful experience that is full of surprises. I have learned how to take care of others but at the same time not to cross boundaries. Learning how to balance between the boundaries among people from different cultures is challenging.

Chan Ka Shuen, BTB

Communication is extremely important. Since every culture has their own way in communication, it is vital to understand the differences and adopt the most appropriate way to approach your buddies.

Chloe Li, BBA-SCM

I met a lot of friends from different countries and we learnt each other’s culture. Buddy Programme has given me a fruitful, meaningful and unforgettable experience. Don’t be afraid to speak English. Confidence is always the key!

Emily Ho, BBA-FB

I am lucky to meet my exchange buddy from Sweden in this Buddy Programme. I have a better understanding on the culture of Sweden. My buddy and I had created memorable experience while we visited attractions in Hong Kong together.

Icelyn Choy, BA-ENG

Most of the exchange students are very independent and they won’t actively reach out to you. Prospective buddies need to be proactive. Don’t be afraid to invite them to hang out with you in campus or explore the city together.

Olivia Yim, BJC

I am delighted to introduce HSUHK and Hong Kong to my buddy. It is a great opportunity for me to meet new friends from different countries.

Keith Chan, BBA
