On 27 June 2026, the Global Affairs Office welcomed a delegation from South China Normal University, as part of its “GBA Discovery” Exchange Tour for student participants from West Orange High School, USA.

The visit began with a presentation by Dr Ken Yau, Head of Global Affairs, on “Hong Kong – where East Meets West”, introducing the history, culture, and unique Hong Kong character. Students were also given an overview of HSUHK and its distinctive learning environment. Building on the presentations, HSUHK student ambassadors led a series of interactive activities designed to deepen their understanding of Hong Kong and HSUHK while promoting cross-cultural interaction and engagement.

Participants also visited the Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Lab, where they explored the emerging artificial intelligence technologies and experienced interactive applications, including virtual background generation. The experience offered students a glimpse into the practical applications of innovative technologies in learning and communication.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and mutual learning, reflecting HSUHK’s ongoing commitment to internationalisation and strengthening educational connections worldwide.
