On 13 February 2026, the Global Affairs Office held a Chinese New Year Party for exchange students to celebrate one of Hong Kong’s most cherished cultural traditions and to welcome the Year of the Horse.
Students had fun learning Chinese calligraphy to write “Fai Chun” – red banners with good luck messages. At the same time, they also painted “Fortune Cat”, which symbolise wealth and happiness. They also celebrated the occasion by enjoying traditional sweet dumplings, a special treat during the Chinese New Year.
The celebration successfully brought everyone together to share the festive spirit and cultural traditions in Hong Kong.
