The Global Affairs Office hosted HSUHK’s first Partner Day on 23 February 2026, ahead of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) 2026 Conference and Exhibition, welcoming approximately 50 attendees, including representatives from valued partner institutions from 15 countries. The morning brought together established and prospective partners for meaningful dialogue and cultural exchange.
In her welcome remarks, Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), highlighted HSUHK’s recent developments and achievements, emphasising the University’s commitment to innovative teaching and global engagement. Dr George Ho, Associate Professor from the School of Decision Sciences, and Associate Director (Digital Learning) of the Centre for Teaching and Learning, presented his latest research on artificial intelligence and its applications in teaching, illustrating how research and innovation translate into impact for society through knowledge exchange.
Two inbound exchange students, Julie Mabit from the University of Lille, France; and Leonie Freitag from Hamburg School of Business Administration, Germany, shared their student life at HSUHK and the city’s vibrant culture. Under the guidance of Dr Holly Chung, Head of Honours Academy, 10 students from the Honours Academy led a campus tour to the HSUHK Jockey Club Residential Colleges, the Martin Ka Shing Lee Innovation Lab, the Lee Shau Kee Sports Complex, and the rooftop organic farm. Our guests experienced the breadth of learning opportunities at HSUHK.
The lunch reception that followed fostered continued networking and celebration over dim sum. Notably, 23 February coincided with the seventh day of the Chinese New Year, traditionally celebrated as the birthday of all mankind. Professor Fu distributed red packets featuring the Chinese calligraphy “大吉大利” (great luck and prosperity), handwritten by our inbound exchange students, passing on best wishes to longstanding partnerships spanning over a decade, and those soon to flourish.
