


On 26 May 2025, The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong (HSUHK) warmly received a delegation from Yiwu, a global hub for small commodities trade in the Mainland China, led by Mr Jia Yiming, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yiwu Municipal Committee and Head of the United Front Work Department. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities between Yiwu and Hong Kong. Professor Joshua Mok, Provost and Vice-President (Academic and Research), Professor Jeanne Fu, Vice-President (Learning and Student Experience), and other HSUHK representatives extended their welcome to the delegation.
During the meeting, Professor Mok shared HSUHK’s latest developments, emphasising its commitment to nurturing innovative leaders through liberal arts education and advancing innovation and & technology via partnerships with Greater Bay Area or global institutions to broaden student opportunities. Professor Fu highlighted HSUHK ’s innovative student activities and programmes to enhance competitiveness in a dynamic market.
Mr Jia commended HSUHK’s achievements in higher education and highlighted Yiwu’s role as a global e-commerce hub with policies empowering youth innovation through startup incubation and academic-industry collaboration.
Both parties engaged in discussions on talent development and potential joint initiatives, such as organising study tours and internships for HSUHK students in Yiwu’s e-commerce supply chains and smart logistics sectors. This visit paves the way for collaboration and mutual growth between Hong Kong and Yiwu.
